Privacy Policy for LayerCost

Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to the LayerCost Android app distributed through Google Play under the package name com.layercost.app.

The app may be used with an anonymous guest account or with a signed-in account created using email/password or supported sign-in providers.

Data we collect

• Name, when provided by a sign-in provider such as Apple.
• Email address, when you register, sign in, or connect supported services.
• User identifiers such as Firebase account identifiers.
• User-created app content including printer records, filament records, spool records, saved cost calculations, and print history.
• Printer connection details you enter, such as local IP addresses, serial numbers, access codes, and monitoring settings.
• Optional cloud printer account details when you connect supported services such as Bambu Cloud.

Data we do not currently collect

• Precise or approximate location.
• Contacts, SMS, or call history.
• Installed app lists.
• Advertising identifiers for marketing or ad targeting.
• Photos or videos as part of the current production app flow.

How we use data

• To create, authenticate, and manage your LayerCost account.
• To sync printers, filament inventory, and saved calculations across sessions.
• To discover local printers and show live printer telemetry.
• To connect printers to supported cloud services that you choose to link.
• To provide core app functionality such as print cost tracking and history.

How data is shared

LayerCost does not sell your personal data and does not share your data with advertising networks for marketing purposes.

We may use service providers that process data on our behalf, including:

• Firebase Authentication for account sign-in and identity handling.
• Firebase Firestore for app data storage and synchronization.
• Google or Apple sign-in services when you choose those login methods.
• Bambu Cloud when you explicitly connect your Bambu account.

Network and security notes

Cloud account and backend traffic generally uses secure transport. However, some local network printer integrations may use plain local network protocols or unencrypted local HTTP connections, depending on the printer platform and its available APIs.

Because of that, not all data transmitted by the app qualifies as fully encrypted in transit in every scenario.

Data retention

We retain account and synced app data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the service.

Some limited records may be retained for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, or dispute handling where required.

Account deletion

You can request deletion of your LayerCost account and associated data directly inside the app through Settings > Delete Account.

If you cannot access the app, you can request deletion by emailing support@layercost.net from the email address associated with your account.

Children

LayerCost is intended for general maker, printing, and cost-management use and is not designed for children. The app is not targeted at children under 18.
